The 6th International Formators’ Assembly opened with a Eucharistic Celebration at 9:30am in the chapel near the sarchophagus of Blessed Maria Helena and Blessed Josepha. The gospel story of the Samaritan woman reminded participants of the world’s deep thirst for hope. After a blessing prayer for our troubled world, the sisters processed to the conference hall, officially opening the assembly with the hymn, Veni Creator.
Sr. Mariana Camezzana (General Councilor), on behalf of the Congregational Leadership Team, welcomed everyone, including those joining online via Zoom meeting, and grounded the theme “Transformed by the Trinity” in the question: what kind of women must we form to face today’s challenges? She emphasized that formation is a sacred service of discernment, declaring the assembly open with a call for formators’ hearts to be passionate for Jesus.
Sr. Natalia Tóthová (General Councilor) introduced and thanked the Formation Commission for all the preparatory activities. Sr. Michaela Leifgen (Congregational Coordinator for Formation) presented the practical guidelines and daily schedule.
The afternoon was then dedicated to bonding activities, exploring what it means to take a co-creative approach to formation.
