Eight SSpS Sisters from five countries join the special training program for acquiring tools to prepare and accompany new generations in the Church mission
The Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit organized the 2026 International Formators’ Course in Spanish from July 4 to October 4 at the Espíritu Santo Retreat House in San Lorenzo City, a major suburb near the Paraguayan capital, Asuncion.
“SSpS Creative and Passionate to Live the Mission–Today” was the theme with the biblical icon of the Canaanite Woman’s encounter with Jesus (Matthew 15:21-28).
Sr. Lidia Kunze and Sr. Maria Percila Vieira, SSpS comprise the team for planning, accompaniment, and development. Eight participants arrived from Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, and Paraguay, joined by two Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration from Argentina and Poland.
Throughout the weeks, participants are delving into essential themes: cultivating mutual listening, conflict resolution, SSpS identity and Trinitarian spirituality, and the vows in today’s world. Emotional health and protection norms are being addressed, along with the formator’s role as witness and companion. A significant session on technology, social networks, and artificial intelligence highlighted both opportunities and dangers for younger generations and the environment. Interculturality is also being explored to build more fraternal communities.
A significant moment was the visit of Sr. Miriam Altenhofen, Congregational Leader, whose presence underscored the importance of formation for the future of religious life. This formation program deepens the path begun in early formation, renewing participants’ passion for mission. In a rapidly changing world, formation must continue to evolve—integrating new technologies, emotional intelligence, and intercultural sensitivity—to accompany young people in discovering their vocation and responding to the Gospel’s call.
