Fr. Dario Bossi, MCCJ, facilitated the morning session. He is a Comboni missionary, an advisor to the Brazilian Conference of Bishops, and member of Vivat International.
He described a world in crisis—marked by exploitation, marginalization, and rising authoritarianism—and emphasized the urgent role of religious life in challenging injustice and witnessing to a hopeful, alternative way of living.
Sr. Gretta Fernandes, SSpS, Executive Secretary of VIVAT International, shared the organization’s 25-year journey in advocacy work—both at the United Nations in New York and at the Human Rights Council in Geneva. She encouraged greater participation in VIVAT’s advocacy efforts, especially at the local level.
Sr. Petronella Maria Boonen, SSpS, who is actively involved with the Human Rights Center in São Paulo, Brazil, invited the sisters to an evening session focused on the theme of restorative justice.
