The 6th International Assembly of Formators concluded on the Solemnity of the Annunciation, March 25, with a vibrant closing Mass at the Sacred Heart Convent chapel in the Steyl Motherhouse.
Presided by Fr. Dennis Manzana, SVD, the 5:00 pm liturgy began with a unique entrance procession. Participants, grouped by continent, entered from different directions in a pilgrim dance walk, bearing significant symbols that captured their assembly experience. The international character of the gathering was palpable as the Prayers of the Faithful were offered in various languages, and the assembly’s hymns echoed the same diversity, beautifully symbolizing interculturality.
A profound highlight came during the doxology, where the Great Amen was accentuated by the Indian Aarti ritual—a ceremonial offering of light and praise to God. Following the Mass, Sr. Miriam Altenhofen, the Congregational Leader, symbolically sent forth the formators by presenting each with a lighted candle, charging them to carry the assembly’s spirit back to their home provinces and regions.
The solemn liturgy transitioned into a joyful celebration of fellowship. A shared meal brought everyone together, followed by an evening of recreation where participants delighted all with songs, dances, games, quizzes, a skit, and friendly competitions. This festive gathering marked a joyous conclusion to the assembly
