The March 10 afternoon session shifted focus to the practical expression of mission. Led by Sr. Mariana Camezzana, SSpS, the workshop aimed to learn from concrete mission mandate experiences across Provinces and Regions and to share good practices.
Formators first shared at tables about how junior Sisters (temporary vows) in their contexts are being prepared for mission mandates, enriching the collective understanding.
Sr. Mariana then shared perspectives from the Congregational Leadership Team (CLT), framing the discussion around key questions:
How can the Congregation sustain its presence on five continents?
Should we return to giving mission mandates immediately after first vows?
What are the implications of the 2025 decision affirming mission mandates as a “non-negotiable” part of SSpS life?
The session ended with personal journaling on questions for the upcoming General Chapter:
How can the missionary mandate be experienced as a gift, not a burden?
What proposals and insights can formators bring forward?
What values should be strengthened in initial formation?
The day offered a profound synthesis, connecting a deeply understood identity with a courageous response to God’s mission
