Dear Sisters,
Greetings and blessings to all of you on the feast of the Epiphany. Only a few days separate us from the 15th General Chapter. The majority of the Capitulars are already in Rome. Some stay here in our Generalate, others in Castel Gandolfo in the international Center of the Focolarini and a third group in a holiday house of a religious congregation at the other end of Via Cassia. We are very grateful that a great majority of capitulars and service personnel got their visa and arrived safely. By now we know that the needed 2/3 of capitulars for a valid General Chapter will be present. At the same time, we are sorry to know that a few will not be able to participate for different reasons like Covid-19 regulations, visa difficulties or health reasons.
Dear Sisters, the time of postponing and preparing for the 15th General Chapter has taught us to wait and to trust, to be more patient and to care for one another. After things seemed to be better, we felt encouraged to fix the date and venue for the General Chapter. Coming Sunday most of us from the Generalate will move to Divin Maestro Retreat Centre in Ariccia in order to get the house ready and to welcome the capitulars and service personnel arriving from different places.
The Congregational communication team is prepared to keep you informed about the General Chapter. The Eucharistic celebrations of the opening day , Family feast day and the closing day will be livestreamed. Regular information, including blogs, photos and videos you can find every day on our website and Congregational Social media platforms. We hope this will help you to follow the ongoing process and to feel connected with us.
Dear Sisters, the three kings searched for the star that was seen most clearly when it was dark. “When they saw it, how happy they were, what joy was theirs!” (Matth. 2,10).
I invite you wholeheartedly to pray for us and for our Congregation during the time of the General Chapter. May we recognize and follow the Star leading to the unexpected places where God dwells among us.
Happy and joyful feast day to all of you!
