Region of Divine Presence, Ethiopia – South Sudan/Uganda is delighted and grateful to God for having two more Ethiopian Sisters, Sr. Adanech Asefa and Sr. Amatemariam Gebremariam. After completing their novitiate in Ghana, they made their First Profession of Vows on December 8, 2020, in our Regional House in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; in the presence of all the SSpS Sisters working in Ethiopia.

In spite of COVID-19 restrictions their parents and two other family members of each professing sister were able to come and witness this joyful celebration.

Bishop Seyoum Fransua, the Bishop of Hossana, from where the two sisters are, officiated the ceremony.  “I have called you…. you are mine”, was the theme chosen for the day.

After the Eucharistic celebration we shared fraternal meal in the open air followed by coffee ceremony according to the Ethiopian tradition. Sr. Judyta Elżbieta Ligięza, the Regional Leader thanked their parents for offering their daughters to the Church and to our Congregation, and noted that now we have become an extended family.

We are grateful to God and everyone who journeyed with them till now. Let us rejoice!!![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ gap=”2″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1608752100819-00805033-234e-5″ include=”15307,15339,15337,15333,15331,15329,15327,15325,15323,15321,15319,15317,15315,15313,15311,15309″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
