Wisdom that teaches us to see with God’s eyes, to feel with God’s heart, to speak with God’s words and to see God at work in our lives and in the world.
We ask the Holy Spirit for the gift of Understanding, understanding of the profound and mysterious ways of God, the depth of the Scriptures and to see our everyday situations in the light of God’s revelation.
We pray for the gift of Counsel, which enables us to preserve a good conscience, to make concrete choices according to the values of Jesus and his Gospel, and to judge promptly and rightly, especially in times of troubles and trials.
We ask the Holy Spirit for the gift of Fortitude, which communicates to us new strength and enthusiasm when we are tempted to give into idleness and discouragement, especially when faced with the hardships and trials of life. Thus, we may do everything for God, with joy without fear.
We ask for the gift of Knowledge, which leads us to grasp the greatness of God and his profound relationship with every creature. It illumines our hearts to contemplate God in the beauty of nature and in the grandeur of the cosmos, leading us to discover how everything speaks to us about God and His love.
We pray for the gift of Piety which helps us to grow in relation to and in communion with God, thus making us gentle, calm, patient, at peace with God and at the service of others with gentleness. It helps us to live our lives as full and complete human beings, respecting the natural order created by God.
We ask the Holy Spirit for the gift of the Fear of the Lord, which gives us a sense of awe and reverence so that we may be mindful of God’s presence and of His divine image in every person and in creation. It helps us to realize how God is so much closer to us than we are to ourselves.
We pray for the grace of true charity, which calls us to be at God’s service by being at the service of the world in terms of love and truth. In the truth, charity reflects the personal yet public dimension of faith in the God of the Bible who is all love.
We pray for an ecological consciousness, recognizing that «each creature possesses its own particular goodness and perfection and reflects a ray of God’s infinite wisdom and goodness». To be grateful, respectful, compassionate, contemplative and open to awe and wonder.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
