With gratitude and hope, Sr. Anna-Maria Kofler embraces her journey ahead as the first Provincial of the new SSpS European Province.
Following her installation as the first Provincial of the new SSpS European Province, Sr. Anna-Maria Kofler addressed the gathered community in St. Coloman and those joining via livestream, framing the moment as a hopeful turning point built upon shared gratitude.
A Thankful Beginning
She began by thanking all the Sisters for their prayers and support during this transformative time. “We stand at a crossroads,” she acknowledged, “and we have already begun turning toward a new way.” Sr. Anna-Maria emphasized that the future of their missionary presence in Europe is a shared endeavor, recalling an impactful sentence seen in a German train station: “The future can only be achieved together.”
A Mission for Contemporary Europe
Looking forward, she connected the province’s new mission to the needs of contemporary Europe, which she described as “thirsting for meaning, for hope, for a word that heals.” She called the community to remain open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, stating, “As women consecrated to this same Spirit, may we walk humbly and with courage, trusting that the presence of God will lead us to the places where hope longs to be rekindled.”
Honoring the Foundation
A central moment of her address was a profound expression of thanks to the outgoing leadership teams of the former provinces and regions. Recognizing their dedicated work in paving the way for unification, she expressed, “We can only imagine the work and generosity this required.” In a symbolic gesture of gratitude, she invited these members forward to receive a rose from the community.
A Journey Held in Trust
Concluding with a note of confidence in God’s promise, Sr. Anna-Maria reinforced that the path ahead, while unknown, is held in faith. Her words set a tone of collaborative trust, marking the inauguration not just of a new administrative structure, but of a united journey forward.
