United by charism and mission, 18 SSpS sisters start their international tertiate
A Eucharistic celebration kicked off the English International Tertiate (“Coming Home”) Program on July 23, 2026 at the Casa Generalizia in Rome.
Fr. Andrzej Miotk, SVD, presided the Holy Mass and Sr. Miriam Altenhofen, SSpS, delivered the welcome remarks, in which she urged all participants to embrace the formative experience of coming home to oneself, the congregation, the mission, and to God.
Sr. Michaela Leifgen, and Sr. Maria Jose Rebelo accompanies the Sisters as program coordinators. Following the Mass, the Generalate Community hosted a garden celebration of the manifest fellowship among the Sisters.
This one week stay in Rome, allowed the participants to meet the Congregational Leadership Team and visit historical places. The next journey brings the Sisters to Oies, Northern Italy, then onward to Steyl, The Netherlands, where the program continues at the Motherhouse through August 31,2026.
This final period of intense training allows each Sister to reconnect with the congregation’s founding generation and spiritual roots, and draw renewed strength for the missionary vocation.
