On March 20, participants of the 6th International Assembly of Formators experienced a lesson in “Building Just Relationship in Ministry” during a visit to Treff am Kapellchen (TaK) in Mönchengladbach.
Facilitated by Sr. Petronella Boonen, the gathering witnessed firsthand how the SSpS) live out the philosophy of “not for, but with” the people. TaK serves as a vital social anchor for marginalized individuals, including the unemployed, homeless, sick, lonely, and elderly.
The formators joined in the community’s creative spirit, interacting with visitors through small workshops. Together, they baked bread, made jam, decorated Easter eggs, and engaged in Easter art painting and stick decoration. These shared activities embodied the TaK’s mission—founded in 2003—to offer a “home” and life-in-fullness through spaces like the Freitagscafé and communal meals.
Under the coordinatorship of Sr. Barbara Roßmadl SSpS, the TaK remains a welcoming space where spiritual care and social support meet, empowering individuals to take responsibility and shape their own community.
