Dear Sisters and Lay Partners,
We, the Provincial and Regional Leaders, greet you with joy and gratitude for supporting each one of us during this this time of formation as we carry forward the missionary service we assumed together wherever we are. We especially thank you, for accompanying us with your prayers.
As a Congregation among the People of God, together we have walked among the “dry bones” caused by the predominant socio-political and economic realities of our world. The text from Ezekiel (37:1ff) that illuminated our Assembly allowed us to embrace the complex, painful, and disturbing realities we experience in society and in our communities. During these days, we have named the “dry bones” among which we walk and which weaken the vitality of our missionary commitment. Beginning this Assembly on the day of Pentecost rekindled in us the confidence that God restores, heals and makes all things new.
I will put my Spirit… was an experience we developed through Conversations in the Spirit, Faith sharing and our conversations about reports related to the 15th General Chapter Directions and Resolutions. We also celebrated the launching of the newly designed congregational logo, which updates and redefines our visual identity.
…in you…we gathered as Sisters from the 5 continents, present in 46 countries, and were building relationships with each other, recognizing and learning to embrace our differences in the ways of formation, carrying out our missionary services, speaking, celebrating… renewing our Passion for Mission. Thus, in the context of battle cries, attacks and threats of war that affect the People of God where some of us are present and which hurts all of us, we have grown in mutual connection and in the awareness that our experience in intercultural communities is a gift we have received to offer it to the world. We want to care for this gift. We carry on our commitment to witness unity and communion in our diversity as an opportunity to cultivate hope.
and live… Concluding our meeting, we recognized that we must continue to work to strengthen the vitality of the Congregational Body at the service of Global Mission:
- Understanding SSpS mission today and new ways of carrying it out
- Missionary mandates and our practices
- Integral and holistic formation at various stages: vocation promotion, initial and ongoing
- Intercultural community life
- Leadership and structures
- Collaboration and networks
Dear Sisters and Lay Partners, we do not want to let anyone steal our joy of being called and sent to proclaim the Good News of Jesus, which brings fullness of life to all. As Pilgrims of Hope, we feel called to passionately live God’s mission amid daily realities and to share God’s love with those who open their doors to us. Likewise, we express our pain and indignation at the situations of forced migration and the environmental crisis caused by wars at this time, and our profound solidarity with their victims. May the Holy Trine God help us to protect Peace and defend Life in all its forms.
